Our senior advisor Dávid Biró represented Hungary at historic OTS NGO Forum in Baku and Nakhchivan

Dávid Biró, Senior Advisor and Coordinator of the Ludovika Center for Turkic Studies, led Hungary’s participation in the first-ever Solidarity Forum of Non-Governmental Organizations from Member and Observer States of the Organization of Turkic States, held November 24-26, 2025, in Baku and Nakhchivan.

The landmark gathering brought together more than 500 civil society representatives and experts from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Hungary, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The forum marks the establishment of a unified platform for NGO cooperation across the Turkic world.

Nakhchivan’s selection as co-host held particular symbolic weight, as the historic city was the birthplace of the Organization of Turkic States following the 2009 Nakhchivan Agreement. Biró contributed to forum discussions on regional connectivity initiatives, the Zangezur Corridor, and the strategic importance of civil society partnerships in strengthening relations among Turkic nations.

The forum represents a significant milestone in advancing multilateral cooperation and solidarity within the Turkic world through expanded civil society engagement.
